In 2002, a major NY financial institution moved 6,000 employees in their trading department from downtown Manhattan to a new facility across the Hudson River in Jersey City, NJ. Costs associated with updating telephone and data systems, employee databases, facilities software and wiring diagrams totaled over $1.5M. Making matters worse, after arriving at the new office location many employees were without phone service for two days.

This story is not unusual. Employee MAC’s (Moves, Adds, and Changes) occur every day in every large enterprise. Some MAC’s involve moving a single employee; others, thousands of employees; but all MAC’s have historically been expensive, time-consuming, and manual-intensive.

What is TeleDAX?

TeleDAX™ is an advanced and integrated Telecom Department Administration Solution that allows SPA managers to seamlessly integrate, standardize, synchronize and automate every aspect of Voice and Data Network MAC activity.

TeleDAX™ is highly adaptive to a wide-range of existing Voice and Data Network administration processes and configurations. It also provides a robust platform within which to integrate external Voice and Data applications, solutions, and products.

How Does TeleDAX™ Work?

Uniquely, TeleDAX™ architects and implements a complete end-to-end solution tailored specifically to your needs and requirements as an organization. As an independent solution, TeleDAX™ is able to single-handedly replace multiple vendor-specific administration processes with a single, synchronized provisioning process.

Further, by utilizing best-in-class technologies, TeleDAX™ not only automates many of the tasks and responsibilities performed manually today, but also ensures that no task is needlessly repeated throughout the entire process.

The TeleDAX™ platform has been strategically developed to include the following three components, maximizing the automating and integration capabilities offered by TeleDAX™.

User-Friendly Interface

Through a single easy-to-user interface all requests for Voice and Data MAC activity are entered into TeleDAX™ directly from the end-user/coordinator. An advanced and interactive Help Feature, complete with a detailed Data Dictionary, provide users with on-screen assistance for every step of initiating a Voice or Data MAC Request.

Further, the VMAC and DMAC Request form has been strategically developed using check-boxes, restricted drop-down boxes, and fully configurable data validation to ensure all required information is captured. Additionally, existing configuration snapshot data is immediately displayed at the start of the request to further enable the user to validate and verify the station or connection that will be impacted by the request.

Status and Notification Updates are sent automatically throughout the entire process to ensure each requestor is kept up-to-date with the status and execution of their request.

Intelligent Workflow Platform

ITBS’ proprietary Intelligent Workflow platform allows TeleDAX™ to electronically analyze each and every MAC Request submitted to automatically identify all affected administration personnel, administration requirements, as well as business process workflow. The TeleDAX™ workflow platform is easily configurable to quickly adapt to an organization’s business and administrative changes.

Direct Back-end Linking Technology

In addition to electronic analysis, TeleDAX™ utilizes Direct Back-end Linking technology. As TeleDAX™ has been developed to be deployed on a number of industry-leading RDBMS platforms, they allow for effortless “pulling” and “pushing” of data to each Voice and Data Network system and application. This unique capability enables TeleDAX™ to automatically update/program each system and application, regardless of vendor or platform. This communication is established by using one, or more, of the following technologies:
